Flying the new height with our stakeholders!
Ever wondered how PADECO successfully implements projects, even amid resource shortfalls, while ensuring their sustainability long after funding phases out? The key lies in recognizing the critical importance of stakeholder involvement in our humanitarian and development projects.
A Harvard Business Review article states that 80% of project failures are due to people factors.
Stakeholders are major contributors to the success or failure of projects. PADECO’s strategy prioritizes understanding their priorities, level of influence, and the degree to which they might affect or be impacted by the project.
Benefits of Stakeholder Engagement
Engaging stakeholders offers numerous practical benefits, including:
- Risk management, such as preventing duplication of efforts and resources
- Building trust and fostering healthy relationships
- Facilitating problem resolution
- Sharing vital information and actionable insights
- Collecting feedback and managing expectations
These efforts lead to long-lasting success and impacts. Throughout the project lifecycle—from problem analysis and design to planning and evaluation—PADECO ensures that the voices of communities and beneficiaries are at the forefront, while also addressing systemic issues involving development partners, policymakers, and experts.
New Transformative Project Launch
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new transformative project, introduced during a stakeholders’ meeting on December 20, 2024, at the Ludewa District Council, chaired by the District Executive Director for Ludewa.
The meeting brought together PADECO staff, multisectoral staff from the District Local Government Authority, representatives from potential beneficiaries, grassroots community leaders, and local and national media houses.
Project Overview
The project, titled “Develop Farm Forestry Inclusive Businesses to Contribute Towards Climate Resilient Landscapes and Improve Livelihoods of the Marginalized Communities in Ludewa District,” aims to enhance community wellbeing while promoting environmental conservation through sustainable approaches.
Key Interventions
PADECO is committed to supporting local communities’ Income Generation Groups, particularly through:
- Providing modern tools and market linkages for honey production
- Establishing tree nurseries with advanced irrigation infrastructure
- Supplying efficient cooking stoves, starting with public schools
