Got Questions?

Here are answers to the most common questions that we get asked every now and then.

How are donations used?

100% of your donation goes directly to PADECO’s programs in Njombe and surrounding areas. We keep administrative costs very low so that every shilling and every dollar creates a real impact on the ground.

How can I donate to a charity?

Yes! After you submit the donation notification form, feel free to tell us in the “Message for the Team” field (or reply to the confirmation email) which area you would like to support for example, school materials for children, farmer training, health outreach, or general operations.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

PADECO is a registered NGO in Tanzania. While we cannot issue international tax receipts, local donors may be eligible for tax deductions under Tanzanian law. We will happily provide an official receipt upon request for your records.

How do I receive a receipt or acknowledgment?

Once we verify your transaction (usually within 24-48 hours), we will send you an official thank-you receipt by email. The receipt includes the amount, date, and payment method.

Is it safe to share my transaction details?

Yes, completely safe. We only use the information to match and confirm your generous gift. Your personal data is handled with care and never shared with third parties.

Can I set up a recurring (monthly) donation?

At the moment, we primarily receive one-time donations via mobile money and bank transfer. If you would like to support us regularly, please let us know in your message, we are happy to discuss a convenient recurring arrangement.

How long do volunteers and interns usually stay at PADECO?

We are flexible! Most volunteers stay between 2 weeks to 6 months. Internships are often 2 -3 months, but longer or shorter commitments are welcome depending on your availability and the project needs. The minimum we recommend is 2 weeks so you can truly settle in and make an impact.

Do you provide accommodation for in-person volunteers in Njombe?

Yes. We assist in-person volunteers with safe and comfortable accommodation near our office in Njombe. Details (including any contribution toward housing/meals) will be discussed over a call.

Is there any cost to volunteer or intern with PADECO?

PADECO is a small grassroot organization. There is no program fee. However, in-person volunteers are responsible for their travel to Tanzania, visa, insurance, and daily living expenses (meals, local transport, etc.). We will guide you on affordable options.

What kind of support will I receive?

You’ll get orientation upon arrival (or via video call for remote volunteers), regular check-ins with a mentor, and ongoing support from the PADECO team. Remote volunteers receive clear tasks and feedback through digital tools.

Do I need any special qualifications or experience?

We value heart and commitment more than a perfect CV. Relevant skills or studies in gender, ducation, health, agriculture, climate action, or grant writing are a big plus, but passion and willingness to learn are most important.
