In total the project supported eight primary schools in Ludewa district, whereby 4 stoves were   constructed in in four  schools during the 1st phase/instalment of the project.

With FFF/FAO funding, the project has made incredible impact by supporting eight primary schools in the Ludewa district. In its first phase, constructed four energy-efficient cooking stoves across 4 schools. To ensure sustainability, PADECO engaged a contractor to build these stoves and empowered local artisans from the ASHTECH Group with training in energy-efficient cooking stove construction, turning them into proud beneficiaries of the project.

In the second phase, we saw these skilled artisans take charge. They successfully built similar stoves in all four schools, creating a vital source of income for themselves while enhancing their craftsmanship. This initiative not only fosters local economic development but also plays a crucial role in reducing deforestation in surrounding villages and allows students to concentrate more on their studies without the distractions of traditional cooking methods.

This project stands as a significant achievement in promoting sustainable development and improving the welfare of school communities. By championing cleaner and more affordable cooking technologies, we are not just transforming lives; we are inspiring the entire community to embrace a healthier, more sustainable future.
