PADECO in its programming has been mainstreaming capacity building interventions to its from line stakeholders-from the ultimate beneficiaries to the implementing partners, why?
To enable them manage the project in a sustainable manner. The capability including to plan, design, monitor, assess, report for decisions, improve the project and achieve the desirable results. With that stewardship, PADECO has conducted a training of trainers (ToT) for its grassroots beneficiaries from February 24 to 27, 2025, in Ludewa and Luana wards based in Ludewa district. The training focused on the following three themes:
- Climate Change Mitigation through Forestry Garden establishment
- Modern Beekeeping, Honey Production and Processing
- Financial literacy and business skills based on IGA and SILC model.
The training included not only our direct rural beneficiaries but also invited other local residents, with a total attendance of 65 Trainers of Trainees. This group comprised 37 primary beneficiaries from the 2-beekeeping entrepreneurship groups and 28 additional community members. The training sessions exerted a range of tactics that shared hands-on experience and actionable insights, ensuring that participants could immediately apply the lessons learned in their local contexts.
Apart from technical support, the project has supported its beneficiaries with modern equipment to expand and diversify their green enterprises. This including honey extraction, processing equipment, establish tree nurseries equipped with irrigation infrastructure, with the funding support from Forest Farm Facility (FFF) through Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Ultimately, these interventions have strengthened local capability, promoted sustainable resource use, and contributed to increased income opportunities for the local communities and environmental conservation.
